OpTrek is going to participate in the Kunstvlaai in Amsterdam!

In 2004 the Sandberginstituut is going to organize the fifth version of the Kunstvlaai. Originally the Kunstvlaai was a parody on the Kunst Rai (art in the Rai building) and gives (non-commercial) initiatives and project organizations the possibility to show projects of artists. ( The Kunstvlaai is to take place on the site of the Westergasfabriek in Westerpark, Amsterdam from 8 May through 16 May.

Mobile project office OpTrek will present its office with an installation of 2012 Architecten from Rotterdam; Jan Körbes and Denis Oudendijk (The Hague branch). This installation consists of reused, aluminium doors from houses due for demolition in the district Transvaal in The Hague. The doors had already been used for a dome light on the façade of our office in the district. (see façade projects)

It is going to be the same type of office installation as shown in The Hague during the 'Stand van Zaken' (state of affairs) exposition of Stroom in December 2003; a mobile office comprising several stations; places for the website, already realized and future projects of artists (e.g. Tatsouru Bashi, Tillmann Meyer-Faje, André Bijma, Ahmet Polat), interviews with e.g. project developers, local residents, municipal officials and a video film on the demolition of the light dome of OpTrek (in Transvaal), so that the reuse of the dome light of doors and the construction of the new installation are clearly visible. In this way visitors can trace the origin of the doors.
